Offerings
We are a fresh new studio situated in the western suburbs of Annanagar.
We offer unique Vinyasa style Yoga classes, kids yoga, teacher trainings for the serious yogi, and yoga retreats for the fun-loving yogi.
Vinyasa Power Yoga
Aim: Tone and strengthen body ; revitalise the mind
Warning: Get ready to sweat!
It is a dynamic, vigorous practice that synchronizes movement and breath in a continuous flow of poses.
Intense internal heat creates a cleansing and purifying sweat. It increases strength, stamina, flexibility, and mental focus. It is a fun-paced class with poses that also encourage alignment, balance, and cardiovascular endurance.
YIN yoga
Aim: Relax. Release. Reset
Warning: Calmingly Addictive
This is a slow paced yoga class with postures being held for comparatively longer periods of time. The postures apply moderate stress to the connective tissues — the tendons, fascia & ligaments — increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.
Restorative flow is a complementary practise to balance the more active power flow classes and happen every friday

200 Hr Teacher Training Course
Aim: Deepen your understanding of Yoga and YOU
Warning: Intense and Transformative
Spend 28 days in the company of people who are keen to do one thing -GROW. This 200-hour teacher training is a comprehensive program that will transform your practice and deepen your understanding of yoga. Perfect for both aspiring teachers and curious practitioners.
This program draws from the rich lineage of Vinyasa yoga, and the methodology combines the flow and power of Ashtanga. You will receive a thorough grounding in asana, alignment, anatomy, sequencing and philosophy, as well as an introduction in Yin yoga, meditation, pranayama, and Thai yoga massage.
Online Classes
Aim: Get comfortable
Warning: Easy going and detailed
This class is designed for beginners & those students who have been practising for only a short period of time. You will cover the foundational postures of our Vinyasa yoga sequence, breathing exercises and meditation techniques that form the fundamentals of yoga all in the comfort of your home!
Kids Yoga
Aim: Yoga through stories
Warning: Fun
Children learn through games, playtime and storytelling, so these classes do not follow the same structure as an adults class. In fact, there is very little structure and lots of room for fun and creativity.
The focus is on fun and respecting their bodies and each other. Yoga poses are taught in an age-appropriate way and are further developed as children gain more confidence and understanding.

FAQ
Is there a class etiquette?
Yes! Yoga is a about discipline, so please come to class 15 minutes earlier as there is no late admittance. Once in class, maintain silence and listen carefully to the teacher’s instructions. Allow yourself at least five classes to become familiar with the sequences and see it's benefits.
What should I wear/bring?
Be prepared to sweat. Wear light, non-restrictive clothing that's comfortable to stretch in. Please also bring a mat, bottled water & a towel.
Can you eat before class?
You should come to class on an empty stomach. You should not have food for approximately two hours before class. You can drink juice or eat fruits up to one hour before class. It is important to come hydrated so make sure to drink water before, during, and after class.
Are classes at Chennai Yoga Studio a cardio workout?
Absolutely. Our yoga classes incorporate many challenging postures that sustain an elevated heart rate.
What if I'm not flexible?
You don't have to be flexible to start yoga. The dynamic flow of postures allows tight muscles to stretch with greater ease. In fact, the more inflexible you are, the more of a reason it is for you to practice yoga. Yoga is about balancing the mind, body and soul. Flexibility is a natural outcome of this process, not a pre-requisite.Will I lose weight?
Yes. With regular practice, students find their bodies becoming significantly more trim and toned. The added bonus is that Yoga improves the major systems of the body and increases healthiness and vitality, and this is the best way to lose weight in the long run. Of course, a balanced diet should also play an important part.

Praveen Kumar, Chennai
While making one feel at ease with their own body, she ushers them to go much beyond any set boundaries while doing the asanas. Rohini's sessions are truly transformative to say the least!
Aishwarya Nair, Mumbai
Rohini's explanations of asanas are so detailed. I was homebound so I had a friend of mine record an audio of her session at her studio and as I listened and followed her instructions, just her verbal guidance at every step painted a clear picture of the postures in my head, which made it easier for me to get into it.
